Campus Visualisation

Problem

The RCID were approached to carry out detailed modelling for a number of buildings situated within  Newcastle University campus. The models are to be used as part of a 3D campus map and fly through demonstrations.

Solution

Detailed 3D models of the campus buildings were created in Solidworks using 2D architectural plans and photographs. The model geometry was then exported into a suitable file format for entry into 3D Studio Max. Material properties, textures and lighting were added to the models to provide additional realism. High quality images were rendered off for the Devonshire and Claremont buildings as shown.
